A Message from our Executive Director

It’s hard to believe we are in the final quarter of 2025. October is going to be a very busy month for activities and events at Bow Cliff.

Our fall schedule is in full swing, and we are grateful for your incredible support. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are also thankful for all the new members who have recently joined our club.

On October 3^rd at 10 am, Bow Cliff will be hosting a Ward 6 candidate forum focusing on senior’s-based issues. This is a critical municipal election, and it is important that all candidates hear from you about the issues that are most important to you, but also to us as a seniors-based activity centre. Those who will be elected will be the decision makers as to the status of future funding to organizations like ours. 30% of our annual operating budget comes from FCSS funding and there is a lot of chatter about the funding being cut or more challenging to get. This funding is critical to the sustainability of our organization. Please make your voice heard.

On October 18^th, we will be holding our annual Hilda Townsend Memorial Tournament. Thank you to everyone participating and special thanks to Wellings of Calgary for hosting. 

Bow Cliff turns 50 in December. We will be hosting numerous fundraising and special events throughout the next 12 months. Tickets are now on sale for our special 50^th Anniversary Gala Reception on Thursday November 20, 2025. Tickets are $75 for Members/Super Members and $100 for Non-Members. Included in the ticket are 2 beverages, appetizers and a $50 tax receipt. As a fundraiser event, we will also have a silent auction.

As part of our 50^th Anniversary celebration, we will be hosting a special catered Christmas luncheon for our members on December 17^th.

Thank you to everyone who will be joining us on our 50^th anniversary cruise in February 2026.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who helped organize the Hand, Knee and Foot tournament, the members social and our lunches in September. Your support is critical to the success of our organization and more importantly, very much appreciated.
